Bike Hitch Rack (Not Suitable for Trike.)

This E bike hitch rack is completely unbranded and a web search turned out nothing that looked exactly like it. I’m guessing this must be an exclusive to Puckipuppy. It is offered as a free addition to any pair of E bikes and it arrived with our two new Poodle model E bikes which, as it turns out are an outstanding value, but more about that in my E bike review for the Poodle.

Sometimes free is not always good so my expectations were middle of the road, but if it were actually built stout enough to manage the weight of 2 E bikes, I figured it must be pretty good. Well my pretty good turned out to be actually outstanding. This thing is built heavy. The clearances are tight it functions beautifully. They are nicely powder coated, and built for functionality, and I have no doubts about its capacity and ability to transport our E bikes safely and securely.

The hold down bars can be locked and the heavy duty rim straps lock tightly into place and everything is fully adjustable to manage just about any vehicle or situation. I especially appreciate the handle that locks the bike rack into the hitch receiver that can be tightened to eliminate any backlash or side to side motion. A nice addition is the locking receiver hitch pin that’s included and I was especially surprised to see a crossbar so a step through bike can be properly secured. Only one though, but I wasn’t expecting any so nice surprise.

One thing the description does not mention is that this requires a 2 inch hitch…
