I was mainly trying to fix having to start the car for every small errand, not buy a hobby. The Alaskan did that, and the sturdy frame turned out to be a bonus. I also get real use from the 35 to 55 mile range and 960W peak motor, especially during my quick hardware store trip.

I took the Alaskan out for a weekday commute with no real plan and came home much later than expected. The swept handlebar kept the ride comfortable, the 28 mph top speed worked well when the route changed, and the 48V 13.5Ah battery gave me one less thing to think about. My partner laughed when I said I would start biking more, but the Alaskan has actually changed that. The 48V 13.5Ah battery helps on backroad weekend ride, the 35 to 55 mile range takes some stress out of the ride, and the 960W peak motor has been consistently useful. I am out on two wheels a lot more now.
